Dear Stakeholders,

On this Nelson Mandela Day, PAX College proudly joins the nation and the global community in honouring the enduring legacy of Tata Madiba — a symbol of resilience and selfless service. We pause to honour the legacy of a man whose unwavering commitment to justice, education, and human dignity continues to inspire the world. At PAX College, we are reminded that education is one of the most powerful tools we can use to change the world – a sentiment Madiba championed throughout his life.

Today, we reflect on our collective responsibility to empower our communities, uplift the marginalized, and build a future rooted in compassion, equality, and opportunity for all. His profound belief in the power of education as a tool for transformation continues to inspire our mission to uplift and empower communities through accessible, quality learning. As we commemorate his legacy today, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering values of integrity, compassion, and equality in everything we do.

This year’s theme, “It is in your hands,” serves as a powerful reminder that each of us has the ability to make a meaningful difference. As CEO of PAX College, I would like to encourage all our staff, students, partners, and friends to dedicate 67 minutes — or more — to acts of kindness and service that advance social justice and community development. Let us continue to build the kind of future Mandela dreamed of — one rooted in dignity, opportunity, and hope for all. Let us each commit to making a difference- not just today but every day.
As we move forward together, may we always remember: “I am because we are”- Ubuntu

Warmest regards,
Brenda Govender
